Welcome!
My name is Lt. Colonel Charles E. McCrary, Sr., retired Chief of Security for St. Louis Public
Schools and former Assistant Chief of Police for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. I am

My new book, "Urban School Security from Behind the Scenes: Views from a Retired Urban
School Security Director" was just released in November 2007. I provide my readers
a"behind-the-scenes" view into the complicated life of an Urban School Security Director and Law
Enforcement Officer.

My goal in retirement is to help School Security Directors and Law Enforcement Officials team up
to become "Strong Partners in the Education Process" by creating strategies in support of
protecting our school youth. In today's environment, we need highly trained, committed and motivated
security professionals to protect the students and ensure school district assets are well secured. I can
help -- I have already lived the process!
